ReplyDeleteThis is a normal thing because many people thought that Bush did a horrible job as president. It is similar to Animal Farm because the animals wanted to kill snowball because they thought he betrayed him. The only really difference is we didn't want to kill Bush, we just thought he did a bad job as dictator.

ReplyDeleteAs this picture shows, the government is trying to hide an issue that's been big news in controversy for years and years and still today. In Animal Farm, after Napoleon banned Snowball from Manor Farm, he and his pack of dogs and pigs try to cover up everything that would eventually lead the other animals to be knowledgeable of his wrong-doings. Napoleon sends Squealer to make up all sorts of propaganda to manipulate the animal's thoughts and ideas. The government is using the exact same concept with many different issues.

ReplyDeleteI chose this political satire for a few reasons.
When Obama took office he promised that a lot of things were going to change. generally for the better. The pigs in Animal Farm promised the same. of course assuming that Obama is turning into another Bush is completely assumption, but it does reflect how in the end of Animal Farm the pigs who overthrrew humans actually came to resemble the humans, abandoning all promises previously made.

ReplyDeleteUnder the section Mallard Fillmore's Blogs of War the second picture, it portrays how Squealer represents someone who is getting paid in some way to do something. Because Squealer was working for Napoleon and he did everything he was told.

ReplyDeletethis cartoon shows how the we tried to make the world a more peaceful place by getting rid of germany, but it is just one big mess. In animal farm the animals get rid of the humans and they think it is going to be a better way of living but turns out to be nearly the same or worse.
In "Animal Farm," the political satire is to be thought of as picking "favorites." In this image it shows Clinton and McCain running for the same office trying to win. It is similar to "Animal Farm" because of the race to become the boss of the farm. Like Snowball and Napolean and their fight to become boss.

This cartoon shows how Obama and McCain fight against each other to win the election of being president. It is similar to "Animal Farm" because Napoleon and Snowball are trying to be better than one another, winning all the animals votes on how good their ideas are. They fight to the finish just like Obama and McCain and eventually in the end one of them ends up winning all the votes. http://docmurda.blogspot.com/2008/02/john-mccain-cartoons.html

ReplyDeleteThis represents two canidates going competing against eachother. It's similar to "Animal Farm" because that's what was pretty much happening with Snowball and Napoleon. Competing for that top spot.

ReplyDeleteThis political satire is about Bush talking about getting rid of the prisoners now then later. It relates to Animal farm because The animals wanted to get rid of the humans so they can rule over the world. Squealer the persuasive one kept telling the animals that it's for the better because if they don't Jones would come back. They thought doing this would be a better world without the humans dictating over them.

ReplyDeleteThis is an example of political satire because, our president now, has made promises while running for president, but he would not go to war. He's extremely caught up in is power, and the promises he made are now being broken because of that. Like, in Animal Farm, the pigs said in the beginning that no one should ever follow the human way of life, but in the end, the pigs start to stand on only their hind legs and they started to sleep on beds. They have become humans.

ReplyDeleteThis politcal cartoon shows that supporters can be just as important as a candidate's ideals and strong supports can greatly affect a campaign. This is similar to Animal Farm because Napoleon's supporters convinced the other animals that he was a good leader. Boxer's slogan "Napoleon is always right," the persistence sheep, and the threat of the dogs influenced Napoleon's power greatly.

ReplyDeleteThis picture is like animal farm because everybody thought the pigs were turning bad and they were ruining everything. In the picture, it has an opinion of Mr. Bush

This picture does reflect on how Bush controlled out country poorly. Which in Animal Farm, the animals wanted to overthrow Snowball because they thought he wasnt a good ruler, which is what we thought of Bush. I mean look how bad our economy is now.
ReplyDeleteNone of the images that I tried to paste onto the blog would go on it. Its of a man playing a piano and Uncle Sam appears and says, "Listen maestro if you want real harmony you have to use the black keys as well as the whites." I think it portrays the unequal power and social class of the blacks compared to the whites during those times. It's the same in Animal Farm all the pigs where superior and the other animals weren't; it's like the pigs are the white people and the other animals are the black people.

ReplyDeleteThis political satire demonstrates the battle for leadership of the country. It is kind of like Animal Farm in the sence that there are people fighting for leadership. it also says that there were problems on each side of the partys because it shows Obama and Clinton split and McCain legs being destroyed
