Two-week Update

How is Term 2 so far? What is really surprising you about your new classes? What is keeping you looking forward? (If you all answer "Spring Break," we're done. . .I expect more creativity than that!) Also, where do you spend your screen-time, if you do find yourself on the computer a bit?

  1. Term 2 so far is alright. I have kind of a lot of academic classes, like Chemistry, this class, and then Spanish 3. I'm going to probably end up switching out of Spanish 3 by Friday, and I'll switch into being a TA for the Attendance Office. I have a lot of upperclassmen in my Chemistry class, so I don't know many people in there.
What's keeping me looking forward is my next couple years I'll have easy classes. Well, hopefully easy.
I spend my screen-time usually on MySpace. I haven't been on the computer much lately since I have wifi on my phone.

  2. I love my classes this term!! I only have one academic class and its English, which is my strongest subject. When it comes to my homework it all works out, because I have sports and they can get in the way of my school. I am totally working forward to softball. I am the catcher. Softball is pretty much my life, so if I wanna continue playing, I have to keep my grades up, or im doomed.

When I go on the computer it is usually to type up a school paper, or scout out stuff on Myspace.
Myspace to me is how I talk to my family, if they dont have a cell phone however.

  3. I like term 2 so far because it kind of marks that the year is almost over. I have alot of acedemic classes and im having a hard time keeping up but I'll get used to it. My friends and my family is what keeps me looking forward, my mom keeps reminding me that she wants me to go to college so that way I'll create a better life for myself so yeah i have lots of support.
I'm not on a computer alot so when I am I find myself going towards myspace, yahoo,or whatever I needed to do. I dont really like going on the computer I like going outside and playing.

  4. Term 2 this far is pretty good. I actually have classes that I like. Mainly because I have them with my friends. This is my first time being in Eng. H so I feel pretty smart. Haha. What's keeping me looking forward would probably be what classes i'm deciding to take next in the future and hopefully getting better at math.

On my screen-time I'm usually on Myspace or Facebook. I tend to go on it a lot. :D

  5. I am happy its the second term but at the same time disapointed. happy because its almost the end of the year and getting closer to moving on with life and sad because i miss my guitar class from last term. I was happy with my second term classes until they made a sudden change. i went from having geometry, and choir, to algebra 1 (that i took in 8th grade AND passed) and pe. I have three academic classes this term. Spanish 1, Algebra 1 and English. I cant wait for the brutal soccer games that lie ahead! cant wait to play Lassen.

usualy when i get on the computer its to check my E-mail, myspace, facebook, bebo, ect. to keep in touch with my friends in Susanville

  6. Term two is pretty good so far. I have three other classes that I have to work hard in, but it is better than last term when I had all four. So, I have Spanish three,Choir, English of course, and Algebra Two this term. I like all of my classes and I am not afraid of the work.
What is keeping me looking forward? Truthfully not much. It's no matter though, school is my favorite place to be (as lame as that sounds) and I have no qualms staying in for the long haul (which is probably why I'm taking classes over the summer as well), but in any case things are looking pretty good. I have all classes I enjoy with teachers that all seem very agreeable. Sounds like a good time to me.

  7. Oops, forgot one part. When I am on the computer I am usually reading. I read random things sometimes, but others I like to spend my time on FictionPress. It's a really cool site where you can read works that other people have written, and even put out your own work for others to see and comment on. I have found others on the site to be very helpful with constructive critisizm, and have given my own. It's a great place, where you can read wonderful stories. Anyways, other than that I'm googling. As silly as it sounds, I enjoy reading about all types of new things (Even if sometimes I don't retain what I read after an hour).

  8. Term 2 for me so far is a total pain because I have a lot of really hard clases like Ag Mechanics where if I screw up a little bit I could hurt someone or even kill them. Then I have three academic clases which are algebra 2, english 2 honors, and modern world history. What is keeping me going back to school is that I get to see my friends and have some fun even though it's school. Last, when I'm in front of the computer I tend to do a lot of things like change music on my ipod, read about the newest videogames, or look for great desktop photos.

  9. I like english because it's my strongest subject, so I'm glad to have it this term. Uhm i have math so that doesn't make me very excited... my main focus is to keep my 4.0. I used to get on myspace a lot but now i don't have one anymore.. :( it's a long story..... but yeah i have spanish 3 too and PE is probably my favorite class. :)

  10. I really like Spring term so far. I am a little stressed out about all the homework but its getting better. I am excited because I am in Art 3 this term and it really fun my others class are PE you class and Geometry which Geometry is pretty boring. Well usually I am on my i pod because i can get on Myspace and My yahoo and pretty much get on anything from there but to do these assignments i have to get on my big computer so i can type faster. LOL

  11. The second Term hasn't been all that fun, so far. Having Algebra 2 before English is hard work. Especially having to do math homework, then English homework. Plus, having to read Animal Farm and another book with it. The only classes I like in this Term is Art 3 and English because those are subjects that I'm really good in.

Usually I use my computer whenever I'm bored or there's nothing to watch on TV. I mainly spend my time on social networking sites with friends.

  13. I think my classes this term are better. I have hard classes, but I'm more prepared for them, unlike last term. My classes are PE, Algebra 2, English II H, and Spanish 3. It's hard when I have a ton of Algebra 2 homework every night, and then I have English homework. Also, I know in Spanish 3 there will be a lot of presenting.
I'm hoping to get A's in all of my classes. If not, at least a B. I'm not sure about Algebra 2 or Spanish 3 though.

I use a lot of social networking sites, but I'm mainly on Facebook.

  14. I think my classes this term are a bit harder than last term. I have an extra class every day. My classes are Mastery Math, Choir, Geometry, English 2 H, and Spanish 3. Last term i only had 2 important classes that i wud take tests on; Chemistry and History. This term i have 4 classes that i get hw in so i get pretty busy when i get home. My next 2 years of high school is keeping me looking forward because hopefully my classes will get a little bit easier.

I am usually on the computer just to check my myspace or facebook. Sometimes i get on youtube and watch some music videos but i don't do that as much anymore.

  15. I'm finding spring term a bit easier on the homework, but i have less time now with tennis and playing for the band. I look forward my first match this year and concert aswell. I'm a little worried about my solo, but I'll pull through. Also I look forward to the end of the school year and warmer weather. When I'm on the computer I play games, listen to music, or do homework when I have to, like I am now.

  16. The classes for this term are a bit simpler. I have a half period class in the biginning of the day. I can finish any unfinished work, which a huge reflief. My 2nd period class is Spanish I, simple because it's in my blood. lol. 3rd period, of coures, is my honors english class and I like it :). My favortite class of all is art III, I enjoy this class very much. This what I look forward to at the end of the day.
What I am looking forward too in the long run is to get to summer and have extrmemly better grades then what I achieved last term.
What I do on my screen-time consist of Myspace, Google, YouTube, and probably Deviantart.

  17. I don't really like my second term classes as much as my first. My classes now are more easier but I still liked my first term classes better. M classes are ta for pe, math, english, and study skills. I'm getting use to them though. I'm looking forward to the rest of the basketball season.

I spend most of my screen time on myspace, google, facebook, and youtube.

  18. Well this term I have PE, Physics, English, and Spanish. I miss my first term classes, but I'm not too worried about this term. I'm looking forward to finishing sophomore year, but I'm really looking forward to getting my drivers license in May, and maybe getting a job this summer. When I'm on the computer, I usual listen to music while I'm on myspace or facebook, or doing homework.

  19. So my second term classes are less fun. They are p.e., biologly, this, and spanish 4. The hardest class is this one. I’m always falling behind due to soccer. But I would much rather have last term classes because I had more friends and they were just easier. My worst class this term is biology. I am not the science person and i don’t like the way the teacher teaches.

  20. Term 2 is okay, but all my classes are hard and all my teachers talk too much. I am always looking forward to the next weekend. When I am on the computer I usually watch youtube.

  21. I like most of my classes so far. My only really hard class is Spanish 3. I don't like it at all but I can't drop it because I need it for college. I already dropped drama and now I TA instead because I didn't like drama at all. I'm really looking forward to being finished with Spanish. Also, I don't really enjoy PE to much. But it's ok...I'm also excited for May because that's when I have cheerleading tryouts. I'll feel safer once I know I made the team again this year :)
I'm really excited for track to start next month. It's really fun doing track because I have a lot of friends who do it and the meets are always a blast.

  22. I like all my classes already. Yours and Corum's are the only academic classes i have so its easy. I'm looking forward to when the classes start to get easier and i understand better. I spend most of my time on youtube or a hobby store like tower hobbies looking for new planes. I have a youtube and just made a video yesterday bout one of my resolutions.... boy that doesn't sound like such a great video hahaha

My classes are weight training, algebra two, your class and study skills. i only have two academic classes. I am lookin forward to gertting farther into the classes and gettin my license at the end of the month. I spend most of my computer time on myspace and youtube.

  24. This term is kind of relaxing besides staying on task in your class. That is kind of a difficult thing to do. Reading 30 pages a day is hard for my schedule. Im looking forward to summer vacation so i can relax for a bit before another sport starts for me. I spend most of my screen time on myspace and youtube.

  25. So far, 2nd term has been a wonderful experience.

My first class of the day is Chemistry with mr. Bergstrom. Mr. Bergstrom is a very considerate person, which is surprising to me, not seing teachers like that since well... kindergarten, i guess. Chemistry is actually the first subject on my list when it comes to choosing classes in college. i find the subject matter -no pun intended- to be understandable and strangely satisfying.

Second, I have Art 1 with mr. Fry. I really enjoy this class because when i walk into the classroom, I get a feeling, i'm being given an opportunity to express myself while i'm doing the work that is required. When i'm allowed to do that, I know that both I and my teacher will be satisfied with the end result. Mr. Fry has this aloof nature that tells me i'm not going to know him personally, but that doesn't bother me because i am doing very well in his class.

Third i have English 2H with mrs. Kern. English is more of a mutual preference for me. I understand the material very well, and i know that i am very capable in this field. but being capable doesn't always lead to results. Honors classes require you to remain very diligent in your work. That's not something i'm famous for. 3rd period isn't exactly the best time for me either. Usually after lunch i'm very lethargic, just having eaten and not very awake, to say the least. i've actually been known to sleep during 3rd period, as in Toff's class last year, but Mrs. Kern is a very likable person and i would never disrespect her by sleeping in class.

At the end of the day i have cp Geometry with Mr. Price. Most people would just roll their eyes at the mention of his name -- "oh, that guy..." -- but his demeanor is mostly exaggerated. i don't see him as the angry, vindictive person most people make him out to be. At the beginning of class he made it clear there are rules in his class that are non-negotiable, And if you don't follow them things get...complicated. he allows you to talk in class just with a specific small group of people around you. most people hate this but i had no qualms about this, going into his class not knowing most of the people there. But i made friends quickly, for my sanity at least, and also to be helpful to those around me.

Sadly i do spend a lot of time on the computer. when i first sign on to the computer i open up all my instant messengers and see whos online. second, i'll open up my E-mail and see if i missed anything, occasionally reading about the strange stuff on AOL News (tm?) Next i'll check out whatever other websites seem to be interesting at the time. Youtube, Myspace, Facebook...you name it. i've seen em all. Most of the time i spend on the computer is Skype conversations with as many as 10 people at once. those can be a lot of fun, but they usually end up with everyone talking over eachother and no one remembering what we were talking about in the first place. Whatever i happen to be doing on the computer i can assure you its probably time consuming, and not very productive either.
